Week in review

Last week was one of the more incredible weeks of my life. After releasing Hide and Seek Her online and then in print a few days later, I’ve had an outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and just random people. I’m beyond happy that the feedback has been generally positive. Cutting open a part of your soul and pouring it all over paper can be a scary thing and it leaves you very vulnerable.

I never wanted to write because I wanted people to notice me (hence the reason most people had no idea I’ve spent six years writing a series). If you’re a writer yourself, then you understand the dire need you have inside of you to get your thoughts out on paper and that’s what I had to do. When I finally let people know, I was lucky enough to receive a lot of support. I can’t thank all of you enough for writing to me, sending nice messages, calling me or congratulating me. Your words mean more than I could explain but there’s something that has made me almost cry even more. I get really choked up when people tell me how much they have enjoyed my story. I get giddy when they ask what happens in the next book, I feel good when they mention the characters like they know them personally. That’s all I wanted to do was convey a story that people could connect to or really enjoy. For me these characters hold a very deep connection with my soul and when I hear how much you all love them too; it confirms my desire to tell a story.

It’s only been a week and I feel like a million dollars. I know it won’t always be like this and I know there will be someone if not many “someones” who hate this story or compare it to something else, or rip apart errors because let’s face it; it takes all kinds of kinds. Regardless of what anyone thinks though, nothing can take away the high I feel from finally being able to hold my book in my own hands and feel like I’ve finally done something right in my life.

Feel free to review the book on Amazon if you have read it. Feel free to tell your friends and family about it, and if you hate it feel free to let me know. This is not a series for everyone, just like not everyone likes Harry Potter or sci-fi novels. It’s suspenseful in parts, it’s romantic in parts, but it’s a story nonetheless and it’s part of my soul that I’m choosing to share.

I’ll leave you with a shot of the cover because every time I see it I still get chills. I can’t wait to share part of Finders Keep Her with you. It’s so much darker, so much deeper and way more involved for certain characters. With that being said it’s also very beautiful and emotional and I think it will be my favorite of the three. I hope to have an excerpt for you all late summer but for now I hope you can enjoy Hide and Seek Her as much as I enjoyed telling the story.
